This week in 1969, Apollo 11 launched from Cape Canaveral, orbited the moon, and its lunar module Eagle landed on the surface of the moon. Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin did a little pre-Michael Jackson moonwalk, and Armstrong uttered those indelible words, “That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.”
One of my mother’s co-workers said the next day, “Well, I looked up there last night, and I didn’t see no man on the moon!”
I guess not. So it is with limited faith and vision.
This new thing, that once seemed impossible, happened. It expanded our boundaries and understanding. Our perspective of the universe changed just a bit. And this small step and giant leap made further exploration possible.
On a more personal scale, what new thing have you ever done that once seemed impossible? Think about it, and be thankful.
What new thing are you skeptical of or resisting? Could it be the innovation, change, or plan that expands your boundaries and understanding? Could it be that you just need to embrace this new thing?
Worth Repeating
Courage is being scared to death…and saddling up anyway.
