Wow. Great lyrics from a “neo-bluegrassy-rockin’-kind-of-band,” called the Avett Brothers. I’ve followed their music for several years now, and even went to one of their concerts with a friend and fellow fan a few years ago.
These guys really know how to put a song together, and in my opinion, are some of the best lyricists going.
But, don’t these lyrics put into words what you sometimes think?
We change over a lifetime. We learn new things. We have good years and tough years. We are affected by our success and our failure. Sometimes we are good friends to others and sometimes we aren’t.
So, when you find a friend who won’t hold you hostage to your past, you’ve found something special.
Reciprocate. Do for your friends as you would have them do for you.
