With a belly full of Peruvian delicacies, I strolled the Oklahoma City Arts Festival with my family.
Brightly colored blown glass, intricately designed sculptures, and splendid captures of beauty in an array of art forms drew us in. Admiring and wondering at these creations, we chatted with artists from all over the country.
Set near the Myriad Gardens, my senses were flooded with creative energy. From the gardens to the music, performers, food, and artwork, we soaked up the vibes of beauty.
A few days later, I dropped in at lunch time and soaked up a nice sunburn on my bald head!
Nonetheless, these are my takeaways:
1. Carve out time to experience and appreciate the creativity of others.
2. Create something yourself! Maybe it won’t sell at a great arts festival, but generate beauty with your own hands…or at least attempt it.
Worth Repeating
Creativity requires faith. Faith requires that we relinquish control.
