1. Keep your mouth closed. You imbibe less water that way. Ahh yes. Things often go much better when I keep my mouth closed.
2. Go to the bathroom BEFORE you get in the pool. Lesson: Preparation helps us avoid embarrassment.
3. The diving board isn’t as scary as it at first seems. You are capable of more than you may think.
4. Treading water is a valuable skill. Some seasons of life require us to hang on.
5. Floating on your back is also useful. Same lesson. Patience and persistence are rarely short courses.
6. Better skills lead to more confidence. Learn all you can about your situation, yourself, and others who have been successful or survived what you are now experiencing.
7. Don’t run around the pool…the side is slick and good for cracking heads. Show and tell: stitches. Some of us have life experience stitches.
