Pause to reflect when seasons change
Sometimes it happens in September, sometimes in October. But, it always catches my attention and invites me into a reflective mood.
The first cool day of Fall, when it starts out cool and rainy and stays that way all day. Typically, this is not a productive day of work for me. I embrace the quiet, find a reason to walk outside, and turn off email for extended periods of time.
This day nudges my thoughts into a review of the year thus far, how I’m tracking on my yearly goals, and heightens my senses about what or who I may be missing.
This physical day of weather change and its spiritual and emotional effect remind me to reflect and appreciate other types of season changes.
For instance, you might pause to reflect on a significant season of life spent in a certain town, job, or relationship. Perhaps, you would reflect on years of debt now paid off, or a specific house, or a season of life with a group of friends who have since moved on.
As cool, rainy days approach your part of the country, hit the pause button on your hectic life. Reflect. Mourn. Celebrate.
When seasons change.
Worth Repeating
I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers!
