The Value of April Fool’s Day?
I love doing pranks and practical jokes on people. Because of this leaning, I have also become the recipient on many an occasion. These days, it tends to be on the end of some increasingly creative pranks from my son and daughter! And, it’s not all bad. Here are 7 virtues of practical jokes:
1. Acceptance. When you have been gotten and gotten good, the best thing to do is to accept defeat. They got you. Congratulate them and then starting planning your revenge (which is not on the list of virtues, but perhaps should be in this case)!
2. Cooperation. Nothing like conspiring together on a good April Fool’s joke!
3. Creativity. Obviously, the more original and creative the better. Besides, it’s good for brain plasticity!
4. Flexibility. One year in college, I found myself on a scavenger hunt for parts to my own truck! For instance, I had to collect a tire from my (now) wife, and lug nuts from the President of the University.
5. Gratitude. Its nice to have friends to joke and who can joke on you!
6. Joyfulness. Pranks help you get over yourself and laugh…especially if you are the perpetrator, but even if you are the recipient.
7. Responsibility. Is there anything more fulfilling than taking credit for an awesome practical joke?
