Love Story Part Two
You can click here to read last week’s blog, She Caught My Eye, which is part one of this two part blog/weekly inspiration.
Anyway, as lovely as she is on the inside and the outside, she got sick. Pretty bad. Dermatomyositis. The first three years included a period of no driving, no picking up the baby, and a significantly altered life due to chronic weakness and soreness.
For the last twelve years, we have gotten to know the world of chronic pain, pharmacies, doctors, treatments, and all of that much better than we ever imagined.
But, she lives with grace anyway.
She teaches first graders and won teacher of the year anyway.
We go on dates and dream and plan anyway.
Our children have a loving and engaged mother anyway.
True, she goes to bed earlier and gets tired easier,
And yes, she still takes multiple medications,
And visits multiple doctors,
And does more than her share of blood work,
As she lives with this condition.
But, we are thankful for her radiant beauty,
That beams from the inside out,
Transcending the limitations of her autoimmune disease,
And we admire her because…
She lives…anyway!
Worth Repeating
Think of all the beauty still left around you and be happy.
