Finding Value in Past, Present and Future
Dream again. Plan again. And take action.
Some of us are wired to think a lot about the future. We are always on the move from here to there. Dreaming and planning about what might yet be. If this sounds like you, just remember to stop and appreciate every now and then that your “here” was once a “there.”
Looking ahead tends to activate our hope muscles. Whether correcting mistakes from the past or creating something new, envisioning the future helps us chart our course. Some questions that may help:
Personally…what do I want people to say about me when I’m gone? Live into this.
Professionally…will I be able to say that my work mattered? What you did and how you did it matter.
As Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “To know that one life has breathed easier because you have lived, this is to have succeeded.”
Worth Repeating
The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.
