Cathartic Conundrums
She just couldn’t do this any more. Surely this was hitting the bottom and not another ledge on the way down.
Broke, exhausted, depleted, spent. She didn’t even have the energy to…well, to do anything. She was at her breaking point.
You may know this scenario all too well. Whether you are thinking of a caregiving scenario, financial struggles, relationship devastation, job loss, or any other circumstances that take us down the path to a breaking point.
BUT, in these dire moments, you may have also experienced a breakthrough.
The phone rings…and you realize how important a simple call from a friend can be, leading you to call others in need of a word of encouragement.
You pray and suddenly the truth of what to do next is as plain as day and you begin taking all the next right steps. You are not alone.
You go…anyway, even though you don’t feel like it, and because you went (to whatever it is), you come in contact with people and messages and solutions that you hadn’t considered before.
You experience a breakthrough. Out of the fertile ground of desperation, you start moving again in the right direction, you take responsibility and ownership of your life as it is and decide to take action. Not to fix the whole thing all at once, but to start where you are.
Breaking points are neighbors with breakthroughs.
So, if you are near one today, I hope these thoughts help you take a chance in the right direction.
Worth Repeating
The moment when you feel like giving up is right before your breakthrough.
