They talked about this goal in their twenties. They worked on it through their thirties. They rarely spoke of it in their forties. But in their fifties, it happened.
As financial obligations diminished and savings compounded, they finally had enough to purchase a little getaway cottage outside their favorite resort town. So, they began looking. While they inspected multiple properties, they kept returning to the first one. Besides checking every item on their list, they sensed in a more intuitive way, that this was it.
Two months after setting it up, they were sifting through some old journals from earlier in their marriage. Folded into an entry from their twenties was a picture of a cottage. It was almost identical to their “old-new” getaway cottage!
Sometimes you can dream and hope and plan for so long that when the goal becomes reality, you are shocked.
