Holiday Sightings #2
“Dad, I’ll ask Santa for that because I know it’s probably too expensive,” my son graciously offered on at least one Christmas occasion.
Sneaking out of bed and into the living room at 2am with his sister, much to our chagrin, we began many a Christmas morning far, far too early. Eventually, Santa learned not to deliver gifts until closer to 6am.
Like us, you have probably relished in the metamorphosis of children’s Christmas excitement from bafflement and fear of being forced to sit in Santa’s lap as a toddler to sheer joy and unfiltered hysteria of Christmas morning. Whether you see a child unwrapping a gift under your own tree or at a benevolent gathering for the many children who may not enjoy such ease of gift-giving, you can’t help but smile.
The holidays are replete with snapshots of children’s joy. And so they should be. I hope you have many sightings of children this holiday season.
Worth Repeating
