Resilient Life #3

When life crashes and adversity happen, it hurts. You may find that you are exhausted, depressed, and disoriented for a long time. But, as you sense that it is time to re-emerge into a new season, I encourage you to dream a satisfying new dream and dare to live towards it.

You may find that your new vision is measured more qualitatively than quantitatively. This means that you dream of things that really matter.

For instance, I have heard of people who had to narrow the boundaries of their lives in terms of travel, finances, fitness, etc. due to serious illness. Yet, I have also witnessed these same people sharing their newfound joy in pursuing high quality dreams.

Like what?

Like reconciling with an estranged family member, or purposefully strengthening a declining marriage, or embarking on a renewed era of spiritual discovery. Like faith and family and friends kinds of dreams. Sometimes the goals you have after an experience of adversity looks nothing like the goals you had in times of ease. But, they are no less important. In fact, these dreams and plans born of adversity are often the most consequential intentions you will ever have.

If you take a walk in a cemetery, you will find that over 90% of the words we leave behind are related to faith and family. These things must matter. So, dream a high quality dream…and plan your journey from here to there. You won’t regret it.

Worth Repeating

Don’t be pushed by your problems.  Be led by your dreams.
