Resilient Life #2
You are unique! No other person will ever have the same beauty, quirks, or contribution to life that you have right now in the way that only you can do. Your tone of voice, sense of humor, distinct smell, peculiar walk, and loves are specific to you.
And no one but you can turn your problems into a story that inspires others to overcome or survive their own problems!
You are also similar to other people. Many of us have similar personalities, conflict styles, change styles, grief styles, etc. Certain dynamics play out in life and only the names change.
As you learn more about yourself, you make positive progress by learn more about your systems. Your system is your people…your circle. This may be a spouse, children, and parent. Or, this may include neighbors, friends, and siblings. Your system is comprised of the people whose lives are affected by you and whose lives affect yours. In other words, you are not an island unto yourself.
So what?
- Learn all you can about yourself and what makes you tick.
- Learn all you can about the people and the circumstances surrounding you.
- Embrace the fact that you are not an island…you need these people with all of their idiosyncrasies!
- Then, choose to be gracious as you move forward with love and truth.
When you can live through difficulty, learn something in the process, and learn to become more gracious with the people around you, THEN you have a story of healthy resilience that will inspire us all. You can do this…just take the next right step.
Worth Repeating
It is only because of problems that we grow mentally and spiritually.
