Songs That Matter #1
Sometimes a song catches you and speaks more concisely than you could have done for yourself. A song a few years ago by one of my favorite bands, The Avett Brothers, caught me.
No Hard Feelings
When my body won’t hold me anymore
And it finally lets me free
Will I be ready?
When my feet won’t walk another mile
And my lips give their last kiss goodbye
Will my hands be steady?
When I lay down my fears
My hopes and my doubts
The rings on my fingers
And the keys to my house
With no hard feelings
With no hard feelings. Hard feelings usually begin for a reason, maybe a good reason. But the longer they persist the more poisonous they become. Viewed from the end, I suspect we all prefer to make our departure with no hard feelings.
It’s something to think about. You can click below to listen to the song.

Worth Repeating
Life appears to me too short to be spent in nursing animosity or registering wrongs.
