A Better Way #2
“Love is the will to extend one’s self for the purpose of nurturing one’s own or another’s spiritual growth… Love is as love does. Love is an act of will — namely, both an intention and an action. Will also implies choice. We do not have to love. We choose to love.” M. Scott Peck articulates so much in these few words.
For many, love seems like more of a feeling. And to be sure, love does conjure up feelings. But in the end, love is defined and demonstrated by action.
When you act in the best interest of someone else, you are loving them. When you choose to engage rather than ignore, you are embarking on the better way. Love does hard things. It does easy things too, but the difference is that it even bothers to do them.
Love manifests in unique ways in a variety of relationships. And when it does, it is always the better way.
Who and how do you need to choose to love today?
Worth Repeating
It’s important that we choose love over fear because love is the answer.
