Your Best #1
Have you ever caught yourself wrestling with the many inflections of your best?
Consider these common statements and phrases:
It was the best I could do.
I did my best.
I did my best and I accomplished my goal!
My best wasn’t good enough.
You bring out the best in me.
In some of these, you can hear a sense of defeat and resignation, borne of weariness. In others, you hear optimism and determination. The ups and downs of life make room for both.
But, isn’t it nice to know you set a goal, worked 110%, hustled, went the extra mile, and worked hard to do your very best? Think back on a result you achieved because you actually did your best. Is there one specific, short term result you want to accomplish at this moment in your life? What would it mean to do your best?
Worth Repeating
Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.
-Theodore Roosevelt
