Near or Far, You Make the Destination Magic
For several weeks, I have gathered responses from readers about their travel experiences. And now, here are 5 reasons to travel…

1. To “just be.” From Sandi on their trip to Venice, Florida…We enjoyed beautiful sunsets, sea food, lots of lovely drinks with umbrellas, but mostly just the atypical beach town, kind of quiet! No loud groups of teens or music blaring rap on the beach. Just families and couples, enjoying the peace! Good place to “just be”. We just didn’t get to be there long enough. I’m ready to go back. And maybe stay for a long while this time….

2. Discover local wonders. From Emily on their two night trip to a nearby state park…This was not a good year to spend much money, so we took our three kids to fish, skip rocks, canoe, hike, and camp. Yes, we have bug bites, but we had fun less than an hour from home!

3. Check another one off your bucket list. From Dorothy on their trip from Tennessee to South Dakota, Wyoming, and many states in between…The Grand Tetons were WOW! We took the up close route as the visitor center recommended. We saw many wonders of nature and man made marvels. Just three more trips on our bucket list.

4. Create indelible memories. From Caleb on their kids’ first trip to the beach…I didn’t know that a five year old and seven year old could be that fascinated with the waves, sandcastles, and shells for that long!

5. Recharge your batteries. From Carl on a week in a mountain cabin…We just sat on the porch, sat in the jacuzzi, and sat in the car. The first two were more relaxing than the last one, but well worth the drive.
