A reminder for tough mornings
Early in the morning hours,
Awakened by fears and anxiety,
About the people and processes and purposes
Of which I am attempting to manage and control…
I rise.
With a head full of doubt,
And a heart full of worry,
I lean in to the rhythms that carry me
And the practices I can rely on, and slowly…
I rise.
As I enter the space of spiritual focus,
Reading, listening, walking, praying, meditating,
Confidence emerges hand in hand with the little faith
That it took to get up, get out, and get started.
I rise.
Knowing that I have enough for this day,
Enough energy, love, peace, and help,
I begin and keep moving and remind myself
Of my better, higher, stronger beliefs.
I rise.
Worth Repeating
But still, like air, I’ll rise.
