3 People You Meet in a Storm #1

Each Spring in Oklahoma, there are two or three days dominated by storms. The whole city gets off work early and rushes home to watch storm tracking by their preferred Chief Meteorologist.

We depend on the expertise of the Weatherman. The precision of current storm tracking can tell us exactly where the storm (hail, tornado, high winds, etc.) is. Storm chasers bring us remarkable video. Granted, predicting all of this days or weeks in advance is a bit more dodgy. But still, we depend on our expert guides to know when and how much we should be concerned and what action to take.

You’re already ahead of me on the metaphorical parallel to life storms. Troubles ranging from health to relational on to financial, work and more have similar dynamics. Fear, destruction, danger…these pop up in most storms.

And one person we meet in a storm is an expert guide. Sometimes, we seek out these knowledgeable and experienced folks right away. Often, we wait until months or years later. Expert guides may come in the form of counselors, doctors, ministers, coaches, consultants, friends, and more. Their training (formal and ongoing) gives them a loaded toolbox of potential solutions and ideas. Their experience with their own struggles and others’ equips them with a grasp on the many expressions of a certain type of “storm.”

If you are caught in a storm, from which expert guide will you request consultation and guidance?

Worth Repeating
You just have to have the guidance to lead you in the direction until you can do it yourself.
