People Who Make You Smile #1
For 18 years he battled Parkinson’s disease. With the tenacity of a marathoner (which he was for many years), he didn’t give up. He sang in our Parkinson’s choir, came to LOUD Crowd® for group voice therapy, and lived an active lifestyle. He kept moving. When he was in the room, you knew it. His good-natured teasing left everyone smiling.
He was an avid OU football fan, even becoming known as helmet man, since he painted his head as such for games. Often, he brought us vegetables from his garden. He also raised enough money for the cause to always be in contention for highest fundraiser of the Oklahoma City Parkinson Rally Walk & 5k. Generosity overflowed from his gracious spirit. His friends number in the thousands because he was first a friend to many.

Though he has now passed on from this life, thoughts of Mike make everyone smile. Granted, there will be tears due to his absence among us, but ultimately he will still make us smile as he always did.
