What happens then?
It’s just a sandwich. Except that, we only eat this sandwich once a year.
Leftover turkey, dressing, and cranberry sauce in between two slices of white bread…the kind that sticks to the roof of your mouth. Sometimes, a dab of mayonnaise piques the interest of the taste buds as well in this rarely made concoction.
It’s the Thanksgiving night sandwich. Delightful in every way.
In much the same way, after you have meditated or spoken or journaled or prayed about what or who you are thankful for, what happens then?
Typically, you feel better. For a while, you experience the glow of appreciation.
Gratitude seems to rearrange your molecules in a good way. You might even live longer!
After thanks, delight lingers. And it is welcome.
Worth Repeating
Thankfulness creates gratitude which generates contentment that causes peace.
