Three Prayers
So, you’re walking slowly, placing yourself in a receptive mode.
Still, your mind tends to wander and drift back toward worry or brooding. Here are 3 prayers that may help you focus on better things.
The Enough Prayer. It might go something like this, “Thank you for giving me enough. Enough for today. Thank you for giving me enough love, joy, peace, discipline, courage, energy, and hope. I receive enough for today. Thank you. Amen.” You can also click here to read a previous blog post on this prayer.
The Gratitude Prayer. Identify 3-10 things for which you are thankful. These come in forms such as things that happened decades ago, things that could have happened that didn’t, simple pleasures, relationships, or more. For a unique perspective on this, click here for a previous blog post.
A Prayer for Others. Think of someone. Anyone. Someone you love, someone you hardly know, someone in need. Pray for them the kinds of things you would pray for yourself. To step outside of your own concerns and worries can be refreshing for you and a blessing for others in ways that defy description. Need help getting started on this one? Worth Repeating
If the only prayer you ever say in your entire life is “thank you,” it will be enough.
