Limits #2

Limits may not always be set in stone. Often, they move; they are dynamic and pose opportunities for breakthroughs.

If you follow any stocks, you may be quite familiar with the support and resistance lines. These lines are always moving, but stocks tend to approach a dollar mark, then bounce off of it. Or, a stock may sink to a particular level over and over bouncing back up. For instance, a stock may spend several months vacillating between $55 (support) and $65 (resistance) before either falling through the support line or breaking through the resistance line. If it breaks through, the resistance line becomes the new support, such as $65 (support) and say, $75 (resistance), in the above example.

Let’s say you walk 1 mile(support) to 2 miles(resistance) 3 days per week. If you get sick for an extended period of time and can’t get out, that 1 mile becomes your new resistance as you work your way up again. And soon, you will experience a breakthrough to 2 miles and maybe even go beyond that to 3 miles.

So, think of one specific area of your life that you can identify a support and resistance line. What would it take to create a breakthrough? Start working on that.

Worth Repeating

The moment when you feel like giving up is right before your breakthrough.
