Crucial Principle Series #2
What are you giving? What are you taking?
You may be giving encouragement, hope, help, or money. You might give care, prayers, smiles, or anonymous gifts. Perhaps you are giving your best, your expertise, your guidance, or your love.
When you give, you add to the good in the world. You generate good vibes, positive energy, and it is palpable to other people.
Some people give voluntarily. Some give through service work. Still others give by creating companies that solve problems or provide solutions. There are many levels of giving, but at the core, you must ask yourself, “What am I giving? What am I taking?”
Whether you are setting out to be great or not, in whatever arena you have in mind, let the motive of giving guide you and keep you true to your purpose.
Greatness is not measured by how much you take, but by how much you give.
Worth Repeating
The more one forgets himself–by giving himself to a cause to serve or another person to love–the more human he is.
