Glimpses of Care #3
Sometimes diagnosis, care, treatment, etc. go quickly. Usually though, it’s a long road.
In the beginning, it is all about the questions, the uncertainties. False hopes are common along with denial. It is a discombobulating time.
As you begin to settle in to life with chronic illness or caregiving, you become more practical. You learn, connect and find ways around the obstacles. Even during some of the hardest days, weeks and months, you also receive beauty, humor and friendship.
At some point, you may very well realize that this is a long road. It takes a toll. It is hard. Still, in quiet moments of reflection, you realize that you can and you are doing hard things.
If you are on the long road, I see you. I appreciate you. Keep going. You can do this.
Worth Repeating
Fall seven times, stand up eight.
