Proactive and Reactive #2

What are you defending against? While you may prefer offense, it is also prudent to think about defense.

In the world of sports, they say “defense wins championships,” and sometimes “a good defense is the best offense.”

While some defensive moves may simply be reactive, consider how you might be proactive at playing defense in your life. You might consider some of these items:

  • Securing an ample emergency fund.
  • Purchasing necessary levels of Insurance.
  • Limiting certain food or drink.
  • Turning off the news after a determined amount of time.
  • Setting your phone to “Do not disturb.”
  • Creating a “stop doing” list.

Think through the rhythms of your life. What happens in the course of your days and weeks that may deserve a better defense strategy?

Worth Repeating

Sometimes you need a “stop doing” list as much as a “to do” list.
