Last Saturday, I rewarded myself. After speaking at a great Parkinson Education Conference in Tulsa, I stopped by Weber’s Root Beer Stand on my way out of town for a greasy quarter pound cheeseburger with tater tots and a 16oz. Weber’s Root Beer.
Normally, I would have been frustrated with a 10 minute drive through wait, but not this day. Even though the cars backed up behind me and the wait drug on, I kept my eyes on there. With no lunch in my belly and the clock pushing 2:00pm, I remained focused. As Mrs. Weber flashed her contagious smile and the aroma of burgers wafted out the drive through window and into the cab of my truck, I smiled an extra salivatory smile. (Okay, I don’t think salivatory is a word, but it should be!)
Finally, I entered an extended moment of culinary bliss! Burger-tot-swig of root beer…burger-tot-swig of root beer…repeat, repeat, repeat.
There was worth it!
Perhaps you’ll be applying your “here to there” struggles with patience, determination, and focus on much more important matters than a nice lunch. But, as you spend a bit of time in the land between, I encourage you to remember that there is worth it!
Worth Repeating
Now you’re there! Isn’t it good to be here?
