Hanging from a red plum leaf…
After an early morning May rain…
Reflecting the warm light of the sun…
Poised to drop, but clinging to the leaf.
In the midst of spiritual reflection following a labrynth walk,
I sat in a church garden area, listening, watching, breathing.
Slowly.
Most of my days run at “break-neck” speed, blazing through the to-do list. Maybe this is the reason I write about and relish in days that allow for a slower pace.
This was one of those days. And, as I observed that raindrop, seemingly prepared to infinitely hang on to that red plum leaf, I enjoyed an extended moment of amazement at the intricate detail of creation.
And I was as happy as a raindrop.
Worth Repeating
May the raindrops fall lightly on your brow. May the soft winds freshen your spirit. May the sunshine brighten your heart. May the burdens of the day rest lightly upon you, and may God enfold you in the mantle of His love.
