In a meeting just down the hall from my office, members of the team grin at each other as my clock cuckoos twelve times. These cuckoos always seem to arrive with impeccable timing…just about the time someone is getting a bit too serious, or when the team is in need of some levity.

What makes this especially amusing is the fact that I have a rogue clock.

The number of cuckoos never matches the hour!

And I love it! Also, my Swiss treasure manages to blaze through about 25 hours in a typical 24 hour time period. So, it’s always ahead, which bamboozles people as well.

Time is a fun thing to mess with. So much of our lives are dictated and ruled over by time. Must be at work on time, have dinner on time, get to school on time, work a certain amount of time, be on time for the doctor who is never on time, and on and on.

To be sure, I tend to be punctual and I appreciate it in others. But, my rogue clock makes me smile as it ticks and tocks and cuckoos at its own pace.

My free-spirited, non-conformist, rogue clock keeps doing its thing and reminds me to do mine, even if it doesn’t fit neatly into standard expectations.

Worth Repeating
I am a free spirit. Either admire me from the ground or fly with me, but don’t ever try to cage me.
